Erika + John’s Studio Engagement Photos

Remember that time California got absolutely drenched in the middle of January with several storm fronts back-to-back? While the Central Coast certainly took most of California’s rainfall, that rare climatic event also forced Erika and John’s engagement photos indoors and into a beautiful Downtown Fresno studio.

We had to keep their engagement photos on a specific day because Erika had her wedding day makeup trial on that day. Erika + John were super flexible! We texted back and forth quite a bit that week, and came up with several rain plans. Ultimately, the rain forced us completely inside, and we found an incredible natural light studio in Downtown Fresno for their engagement photos!

Erika + John met on Bumble, and had their first date at Blast & Brew in Old Town Clovis! They love to spend time with their dogs, adventuring on road trips and weekend getaways, enjoying pool days, wine tasting, cooking, dining out, and watching trash television.

Erika + John decided to switch out of their casual clothes about halfway through the session. Having an outfit change is an excellent way to make the most out of your engagement session. It can give your photos an entirely different vibe, and gives you multiple options for Save the Dates, wedding and home decor, thank you cards, etc.

I absolutely loved Erika’s emerald green ribbed velvet dress! While she found it on Amazon, I actually have a similar one from Baltic Born.

After we cleaned up the studio (aka moved all the furniture back to its original spot), we had a few extra moments without any rainfall. I quickly pulled them aside, and we got some of my favorite moments from their session in under a minute!
