Lauren + Micah’s Morro Bay Engagement Photos

Lauren first reached out to me weeks before Micah proposed! Their story is special in so many ways; one reason being that they’re long distance across the country. Lauren knew that Micah would be proposing soon, and wanted to be sure they had engagement photos done during her trip to visit him in California for their winter break.

How did they meet?

Lauren + Micah first met at Camp of the Woods in New York earlier this summer. They were hired to perform as musicians! Micah is a cellist and Lauren is a flutist. They spent two months performing about 14 concerts a week, attending Bible study and Chapel, and exploring upstate NY together. It didn’t take them long to fall in love with one another.

How did he propose?

As I mentioned, their relationship has been over long-distance. Micah currently lives in Los Angeles and Lauren lives all the way over in Ohio. Lauren flew back to California during her winter break from university. Micah proposed in his backyard on Christmas Eve with sunflowers, a fire, and jazz music. It was so personal, romantic, and perfect for them.

Why take engagement photos in Morro Bay?

Morro Bay is located in the Central California Coast, right along scenic Highway 1. If you’re looking on a map, you’ll find it right in the middle of the coast between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Morro Bay is a quintessential California coastal town, just a little on the foggier side. It’s home to napping seals and more Eucalyptus trees than I can count. It also happens to be one of my favorite places along the California coast for engagement photos!

The succulent-covered dunes, windy sea shore, and quirky, colorful town next to the shore makes it a perfect spot for so many couples! It’s such a blast to take a day or weekend trip along the coast to explore the town, and finish your trip with some incredible engagement photos along the beach.
