Woodward Park Wedding Portraits

Central Valley wedding portraits

Zahaira and Tanner’s Woodward Park wedding portraits look straight out of a fairytale, complete with a tiara and whimsical forest.

Zahaira + Tanner began dating back in high school, but were both in the military and soon drifted apart. They reunited nine years later, and began dating again. They got engaged in the midst of the pandemic, and had a courthouse wedding in December 2020 that was absolutely perfect for them. A year-and-a-half later, they decided to celebrate the joy they’ve felt in their marriage with some Woodward Park wedding portraits!

They donned their wedding attire again, and had their family + friends celebrate. We took some group portraits at a friends’ home, and quickly hopped in the car to Woodward Park. The rainy day quickly shifted to overcast just in time for their session.

I originally spotted this location on a walk with my dog, Jay, in the area. While I don’t normally walk him in this area, I felt a pull towards it as I drove by. I parked the car, and followed that feeling to this gorgeous location. This area is usually pretty dry throughout the year, like most locations in the Central Valley. However, the recent rainfall made everything bloom. As soon as I came across it, I knew it would be perfect for them.

Zahaira looked absolutely incredible in her floor-length, white lace gown! The detailing on the beading is immaculate and perfectly fit her style.

Over the years, I’ve had many couples tell me that they would love to go back and change a few things about their wedding. Maybe their wedding dress fell out of style, they didn’t feel confident in their hair and makeup, or they couldn’t afford to hire a photographer.

Confession? While I loved my wedding dress, I always planned on getting married in a long-sleeve wedding gown. I couldn’t find one I liked in time for the wedding, but found my dream gown on sale for $50 from another photographer. My husband encouraged me to purchase it so we could do an anniversary session with it. We’ll be heading to Canada in a few weeks for our first anniversary, and I definitely plan to make use of the gown for the photos!
