Jennifer + James Central Valley Engagement Photos
You know when you meet someone and the connection is instant? That’s how it was for Jennifer and James.
They met through a dating app, which neither of them thought would actually work. However, when they met in person it was clear that they were meant to be! Jennifer lived 2 hours away, but they spent almost everyday together. Jennifer told me “It feels like we have known each other forever…we are soulmates, and feel so blessed to have found each other.”
On that note, it’s time to see some highlights from Jennifer and James’ Tesoro Viejo Central Valley engagement photos
Jennifer and James had an outfit change about halfway through their engagement photos. Before I reveal the outfit change, I do want to throw out some words of outfit affirmation.
I absolutely love the tones and textures they chose for their casual engagement outfits!
The off-white/cream sweater that Jennifer wore looked so lovely against her skin. That tone is such a great tone to wear for photos because it reduces any off color-casting onto your face. For example, if Jennifer had worn a lime green sweater, then neon green would have been reflected back onto the lower portion of her face. I always recommend neutrals with small pops of color for that very reason.
They also picked outfits that complimented each other very well. James’ thick sweater had elements of the white/blue in Jennifer’s outfit in the knitting. The tan of his slacks kept the overall look of the photos bright and neutral, as well.
The colors you choose have a huge influence on the overall look of your photos! If you want brighter, lighter tones for your photos, wear lighter neutrals like whites, grays, creams, etc. If you want a slightly darker, more bold look then you can wear deeper neutrals like blacks, browns, etc.
You can really see the difference from Jennifer and James’ attire change from casual to formal! Their earlier photos at the Welcome Center had a softer, brighter look. Meanwhile, the photos they took in the vineyard are definitely more bold, and a bit darker.
I love that Jennifer and James chose a different color scheme for their formal look that still looks so elevated and elegant! The caramel and black tones in James’ plaid shirt goes perfectly with the gold botanical designs on Jennifer’s gown.
Jennifer and James, I had such an incredible time working with you two! Your passion, love, and joy with each other reminded me how important it is to stop, slow down, and enjoy life together. I wish you the best on your engagement (and life) journey!
