Megan + Austin’s intimate San Luis Obispo wedding was every bit as beautiful as their love story.
Megan + Austin first met when Megan stole his usual seat on the bus their freshman year of high school. You know, the unofficially “assigned” seating. Many years later, Austin ended up proposing to Megan on one of their favorite beaches. He “found” an abalone shell with her engagement ring right in there! (Or, I suppose he could have brought it along with him). Megan said yes! They chose to keep things small to focus more on celebrating their love alongside their close family and friends at their San Luis Obispo wedding.
Megan + Austin chose to have a small ceremony on a gorgeous VRBO property in San Luis Obispo. It’s definitely one of my favorite locations for a wedding.
The rolling hills, enchanting greenery, and excitement in the air made their wedding feel like the end of a fantasy novel – the part where happily ever after comes to life.
Can we just take a moment to admire the elegance of Megan’s wedding dress?
The simplicity of the material and designed modeled the beauty behind their wedding day and love story. Plus, Megan looked absolutely radiant.
Megan + Austin chose to have a private first look, which was a great decision for them. Due to some technical issues (power going out due to a windstorm), the ceremony didn’t happen until the evening.
By doing a First Look earlier in the day, Megan + Austin had plenty of time for their bride + groom, family, wedding party, and sunset portraits.
Remember the power outage mentioned about a dozen photos ago?
Luckily, they were able to use a back-up generator. It took some time to set up, so we changed the schedule around a bit and did their sunset bride + groom photos.
Remember that wind storm that knocked out the power? You may not have noticed it, but we battled the wind so much throughout the day. To make these stunning veil photos happen without losing the veil, one of Megan’s bridesmaids had to hold it down for us behind them.
What did I tell you about those rolling hills and enchanting greenery?
We had a bit of downtime while we waited for the generator, so Megan + Austin were able to connect with their family + friends.
Once the generator was on and Megan had a chance to touch up her hair after the battle with the wind, it was time for their ceremony!
Megan + Austin’s intimate wedding in San Luis Obispo was an absolute dream to capture.
While the day may not have gone exactly to plan, they were able to spend a lot of time with family and friends. They shared so many special moments together. It was absolutely perfect for them.
