Winter Anniversary Photos in Bass Lake

Jessica + Corey’s Bass Lake Anniversary Photos

Bass Lake holds an extra special place in my heart. I had some family live up the mountain when I was younger, and I have a lot of good memories hanging out on the lake. From going airborne in an inner tube to jumping off rocks I definitely should have avoided, it has always inspired a sense of adventure.

When considering options for Jessica and Cory’s mountain anniversary session, it became clear that Bass Lake was going to be the best option for their photos.

It’s only about an hour away from Fresno, CA, and is located super close to Yosemite. It’s just off the 41 Highway that leads you right to Yosemite National Park, which is definitely an option for all types of sessions. Bass Lake also has some incredible views, and gives off adventurous mountain vibes. You’ll especially see what I mean at the end of this blog post.

I love that Jessica and Corey chose to bring some hiking boots. The shoes made it so much easier to navigate the sandy shore and the hike we did towards the end of their session.

I found this little trail when I was scoping out hikes for my Bachelorette weekend. We rented a little cabin in Mariposa, and spent most of the day hiking and the night time in the jacuzzi. A perfect weekend.

I showed Jessica and Corey how to use my camera so they could take portraits of each other at the end of the session. I always love to see how these ones turn out!

There’s just something special in the couple’s expressions when their significant other is capturing them.

If you’re down for a little bit of travel, mountain sessions are my favorite in the winter months. The Central Valley can get a bit dry, with lots of dead trees. The mountains look gorgeous in every season.
