Danielle + Rafael’s Anniversary Photos at Millerton Lake

This couple’s session at Millerton Lake was extra special to me because I’ve known Danielle since middle school days. I did a brief stint (2 years) in choir, and quickly found that singing was very much not calling to me. At all. While I have the most admiration for those who can carry a tune, I am very much not one of those people. I’ll just stick to photography!

I’ve also followed Danielle + Rafael’s love story on social media for years. They’ve gone on so many adventures together, support each other so well, and have the most pure hearts. It was truly an honor to capture such a special time in their lives.

I was so excited to get the chance to be their photographer for their anniversary photos!

Millerton Lake is also one of my favorite locations, especially in the winter and springtime. There’s so much lovely green grass that pops up in the winter, which can definitely be hard to find in the Central Valley when everything dries up. I love that the colors in Danielle + Rafael’s photos look like straight from a fairytale!

Plus, the native wildflowers bloom in the springtime, which adds gorgeous pops of color to photos. Even the summer and fall provide beautiful golden fields that work for every type of session. It’s also only a 20-30 minute drive outside the city of Fresno to get to some amazing locations along the lakeside. Plus, it’s easy enough to find a more private location for your session if you’re feeling a little shy.

You really can’t go wrong with Millerton Lake.
