February was a month of love! It marked a special day for Allison and Matthew as they celebrated their wedding at the enchanting Grace Barn. The couple’s love story has blossomed since their college days at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where they met at the Country Line Dancing Club. From there, their connection grew quickly, and they soon realized they wanted their love to last a lifetime.

Their engagement was a beautiful moment that they cherish, which took place during a weekend trip to Cambria, CA. It was just the two of them, enjoying the serene surroundings of Allison’s family vacation house. As they hiked up a hill, they found themselves on a bench overlooking the breathtaking view of the ocean and hills. In that tranquil moment, surrounded by nature’s beauty, they both felt the perfection of the moment. Matthew seized the opportunity and, with a ring in hand, got down on one knee. It was a truly intimate and magical proposal, exactly what Allison had always dreamed of.

I was unable to capture Allison and Matthew’s wedding day due to my pregnancy. However, I hired some incredible associate photographers who beautifully documented every moment of their special day. On cozy weekend nights, you can find them snuggled up on the couch indulging in a bottle of wine and some ice cream while watching hilarious movies. Being self-confessed nerds, they also bond over their love for the Lord of the Rings series, both reading the books and watching the movies together. Matthew’s passion for Dungeons and Dragons is no secret, but Allison joins in on the fun by brainstorming creative new monsters and plots with him. And on those tired days after work, they find solace in each other’s arms, seeking light-hearted entertainment through funny memes.

Allison and Matthew love spending their time together in various ways. One of their favorite activities is dancing in the kitchen while preparing a delicious dinner. They crank up the music and let loose, creating a joyful atmosphere filled with laughter. Nature also plays a significant role in their relationship. They enjoy going on long walks or hikes, relishing in the awe-inspiring views and identifying plants along the way. With their background in botany and environmental science, this shared interest brings them even closer.

A Beautiful Day

The ceremony itself took place at a nearby church, where family and friends gathered to witness the exchange of vows and pledges of eternal love. Following the heartfelt ceremony, the newlyweds, accompanied by their loved ones, made their way to Grace Barn for the reception. Grace Barn, with its rustic charm and picturesque surroundings, was the perfect venue to host this joyous occasion.

With the sun beginning to set, casting a warm golden glow over the surroundings, the reception commenced. Laughter filled the air as guests mingled, sharing stories and memories, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere. Throughout the night, the barn echoed with lively music and the sound of laughter and joy. Guests, filled with happiness and excitement, joined the newlyweds on the dance floor, showing their support and love for the couple. The night was filled with heartfelt speeches, joyful toasts, and the clinking of glasses as everyone raised a cheer to Allison and Matthew’s lifelong happiness.

Moments to Remember

When asked what moment of their wedding day they are most looking forward to, Allison shared that she was eager for the time after their grand exit. When they finally have a moment alone in the car. A chance for them to bask in the relief that all the stress is behind them, and simply be in each other’s company. She also eagerly anticipated their first dance, a moment filled with love and intimacy, followed by the joy of dancing with all their loved ones. And, of course, savoring the delectable food that will be served. Because good food always has a way of bringing people together.
