Erika + Kevin’s Hidden Hollow Wedding

Erika + Kevin are seriously one of the sweetest couples I know, so I’ve been so excited about shooting their wedding since they first reached out out back in June 2022! I knew it was fate when they chose one of my favorite spots, San Simeon, for their engagement photos.

They chose Hidden Hollow for their wedding venue, which is one of my favorite venues in the Central Valley! The elegant details, multiple intimate + romantic ceremony sites, the bright indoor reception space, and overall beauty throughout the venue makes it such a classic and timeless choice for couples. The indoor reception space definitely came in handy on Erika + Kevin’s wedding day because of all the rainfall.

This spring has been one of the wettest seasons in California that I’ve lived through. While we hoped the forecast would miraculously change, their wedding day was super rainy. The ceremony was quickly switched to be indoors. We were at the mercy of whenever the rain let up to take photos outdoors. Throughout the day, Erika + Kevin were kind, gracious, and overjoyed to be celebrating such a special day. Even though the rain changed how the overall day turned out.

We lucked out, and had a 10 minute break in the downpour for Erika + Kevin to have their first touch outside. This was the spot that their ceremony had originally been planned, so we wanted to get as many photos as possible in the area. Their first touch was absolutely beautiful, and just minutes before they walked down the aisle!

We had about 5 minutes of time outside to have some bride and groom portraits done before it started hailing. Erika + Kevin were troopers and quickly moved through several different poses in just a few minutes so they could have some beautiful bride and groom portraits!
