Carmel Engagement Photos

Carmel is the perfect location for incredible engagement photos.

The area offers many options for engagement photo sessions – from a fairytale in the forest to jaw-dropping cliffside vibes. While we mostly stayed on the outskirts of town, the city offers breathtaking views of the ocean as well as great spots for taking photos along the beachfront and throughout downtown Carmel.

Samantha and Adam wanted a variety of different views for their engagement photos. They were having a hard time deciding between beach, cliffside, and forest vibes. I suggested we do all three! The Central Coast is one of my favorite places for engagement photos because these incredible locations are all just a short drive away from one another.

Samantha and Adam went to high school together and had mutual friends, but never actually spoke. A few years after graduating high school, Adam messaged Samantha on instagram and asked if she remembered him. She did! Adam invited her for fro-yo, and they’ve been hanging out together since.

Adam proposed in their home on Samantha’s birthday back in 2021. It was also her first full day of teaching, as she was hired on at a school mid-year. She was not expecting it at all! It was absolutely perfect for the two of them.

Samantha + Adam really enjoy snowboarding and traveling around California when they have the time. However, they also enjoy being homebodies as well. Some of their favorite moments together are spending time at home cooking, and catching up on their favorite TV shows.

I love that Samantha brought a different outfit for each location! Many of my couples choose to have at least two outfits for their engagement photos – one casual outfit and one formal outfit. Some of my favorite shops for engagement photo outfits are: Baltic Born, Fehrnvi, and H&M.

Samantha has planned on just two outfits, but we decided to end the session at the beach since we still had about 5-10 minutes of soft light left. They turned into some of my favorites!

Samantha and Adam, thank you for inviting me to capture your engagement photos. It was such a pleasure meeting you two and I am so glad that we got to spend some time together. The shoot was absolutely incredible! Your outfits, locations, smiles, and love for one another made it so much fun for me to work with both of you. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you two, and April can’t come soon enough!
