When couples choose to do their engagement session at the same venue where they will be getting married, it adds a whole new layer of meaning to the photos. That is exactly what Vanessa and Emmanuel decided when they booked their Wolf Lakes Park engagement photos. Not only did we get to capture their love surrounded by the stunning lakeside setting. But it also gave them a chance to create memories in the very place where they will soon exchange vows.

Their story feels like it belongs in a movie, full of history, friendship, and a love that stood the test of time. Photographing them at Wolf Lakes Park was the perfect way to honor that journey while building anticipation for their upcoming wedding.

A Love Story That Began in Middle School

Vanessa and Emmanuel’s connection started long before adulthood. They first met in 7th and 8th grade during their early morning P.E. class. Because of the way their last names lined up, they were placed near each other. At first, it was just a casual “hi” in passing. Then, one of Vanessa’s close friends, Abigail, introduced them because she thought the two would get along. She was right.

What began as small conversations quickly turned into a true friendship. By high school, that friendship blossomed into something more and they started dating. Like many high school couples, busy schedules and the pressures of teenage life led them to part ways. What makes their story unique is that they never let go of their friendship. Through everything, they remained each other’s best friend.

After Vanessa graduated high school, life slowed down just enough for them to see what had always been there. They realized how much they missed each other’s presence. And in July 2018, they found their way back to one another. Even though there had been a breakup along the way, they have always considered themselves high school sweethearts because the love never left.

The Proposal That Felt Like a Fairytale

Fast forward to February 15, 2025. Emmanuel planned a proposal that was perfectly tailored to Vanessa’s personality. It was intimate, thoughtful, and deeply romantic with just the right touch of celebration.

It began with his sister inviting Vanessa to a Galentine’s gathering with her cousins. While Vanessa was there, Emmanuel was at home setting the stage for something unforgettable. With the help of friends and family, he created a trail of rose petals leading from the laundry room to the living room.

When Vanessa walked in, she followed the path until she found Emmanuel surrounded by candles and glowing “Marry Me” letters. He gave a heartfelt speech about how he knew she was the one, then knelt down to ask the most important question of his life. Of course, she said yes.

The celebration did not end there. After the proposal, the two went out to dinner in Fresno where both of their families were waiting to surprise them. Vanessa loved how Emmanuel honored her shy, private nature with a personal proposal at home, while also bringing in his outgoing, social personality with the family celebration. It was a night filled with beauty, love, and thoughtfulness, the perfect start to their engagement.

The Everyday Joys They Share

One of the sweetest things about Vanessa and Emmanuel is how much they simply love spending time together, no matter what they are doing. Their favorite activities range from cozy, everyday moments to little adventures.

They enjoy watching movies, taking walks, playing games, and working on puzzles. They also love going out for dinner dates, browsing stores like Marshalls, and just enjoying each other’s company. Road trips are a big part of their relationship, especially trips to Disneyland, which hold a special place in their hearts.

It is clear that their relationship thrives on both the simple and the exciting, which is part of what makes their bond so strong.

Their Wolf Lakes Park Engagement Photos

Choosing Wolf Lakes Park for their engagement photos was a decision that felt natural for Vanessa and Emmanuel, especially since this beautiful venue will also host their wedding day. Wolf Lakes Park is one of the best wedding venues in the Central Valley, with its sparkling water, tall trees, and wide-open skies. The scenery shifts beautifully throughout the day, offering both soft romance and bold, golden sunsets.

During their session, the peaceful lakeside setting created the perfect backdrop for their story. Being in a place where they will soon promise forever to each other added depth to every image. Every smile, every glance, and every touch seemed to carry the weight of their shared history and the excitement of what is ahead.

Summer at Wolf Lakes Park is filled with golden tones. The long evenings create a dreamy glow over the water, and the warm light makes everything feel timeless. The tall trees provide a cool shade for more intimate portraits, while the wide-open skies paint stunning colors at sunset.

No matter the time of year, Wolf Lakes Park offers something special. The atmosphere adapts to the couple’s story, allowing each session to feel personalized and distinct. Vanessa and Emmanuel’s engagement session captured the beauty of late winter light, soft yet full of anticipation for the spring to come, which mirrors their own excitement for a new chapter.
