Kingsburg Newborn Photos
Some sessions stay with you long after you pack up your gear and head home. This was one of them.
I met Jamille and Malik through Care Fresno, a local nonprofit where we all worked. It’s where they met each other—and where I met my husband, too. It’s amazing how one organization can shape so many life stories.
I photographed their maternity photos for their firstborn, and later, their firstborn’s newborn photos. Since then, they moved to Michigan, welcomed another baby, and recently returned to the Central Valley.
Jamille visited shortly after I had my baby. We sat in my living room, sharing stories, and she told me the news that she was pregnant again. Hearing those words while holding my own newborn made me even more honored to photograph this season for them!
This session was everything I love about in-home lifestyle newborn sessions. Relaxed. Gentle. Real.

Their older girls usually adore their baby brother, but they were a little shy with me at first. Instead of forcing poses, we played a few games. I let them lead. We told stories, laughed, and gave them space to explore. That’s the beauty of this style. It’s not about sitting still and smiling. It’s about connection.
Jamille styled the session beautifully. Her gown flowed as she moved through the space, light and feminine. The family wore complementary neutrals — soft creams, tans, and muted tones. Nothing distracted and everything felt cohesive, with their palette letting the emotion take center stage.
There were moments of stillness, of course. Baby brother curled up in mama’s arms. Malik beaming down at his newborn son. But most of our time was spent moving, shifting, playing. The girls danced in and out of the frame, and I loved every bit of it. That’s life with littles.

Being invited into these early days is a privilege
These are the fleeting moments — sleepy yawns, tiny toes, soft snuggles. I’m always aware of the trust it takes to let someone in during that season. This session felt extra special to me. Because I know them, because I witnessed the beginning, because we share history, and because we’ve supported each other through both hard seasons and joyful ones.
Sessions like this aren’t just about the photos. They’re about the memories tied to them. When Jamille looks back at these images, I hope she remembers the warmth in her home. The way her dress caught the light. Her girls’ curiosity. Malik’s quiet pride. Her baby’s tiny stretch.
These Kingsburg newborn photos aren’t just pictures. They’re pieces of a legacy.

And speaking of legacies, I’m quietly launching something new. Something for families like the Burdans, who want to preserve more than one chapter.
