The beauty and serenity of lakeside family photos never fail to capture the essence of love, connection, and cherished moments. Recently, I had the pleasure of embarking on a heartwarming lakeside family photo session at the enchanting Millerton Lake. This beautiful location, with its ever-changing water levels, provided a captivating backdrop that added a sense of wonder and excitement to our session.
The weather can often play a significant role in the outcome of an outdoor photoshoot. Especially in a place like Fresno where spring brings its own mix of beauty and unpredictable challenges. While weekends are often plagued by rain showers, creating a bit of concern for our lakeside family photo session at Millerton Lake, luck was on our side this time. The day greeted us with beautiful clear skies, a gentle breeze, and the perfect temperature. Ideal conditions that added a touch of magic to our time together!
My goal for this lakeside family photo session was to encapsulate this special moment in the Mengeses’ lives. With Mom expecting another baby, and with two little ones – one at the tender age of 3 and the other just 18 months old – I aimed to capture not only their individual personalities but also the deep bond that unites them as a family. Through a blend of candid shots, playful games, and moments of genuine connection, I sought to create a timeless portrait of this beautiful family at a pivotal moment in their journey together.
As we ventured through the session, allowing the girls to explore and play freely, the joy and laughter that filled the air were truly heartwarming. Each smile, each shared moment, and each spontaneous gesture spoke volumes about the love and happiness that the Mengeses exuded as a family.

Choosing outfits for the Mengeses was a delightful experience that tied in effortlessly with the natural beauty of Millerton Lake. Mom’s selection of a long, ethereal blue floral gown set the tone for the family’s attire. Building upon this centerpiece, the two little girls adorned matching white dresses paired with cozy sweaters to keep them warm against the cool breeze. The dark blue bows in their hair added a charming touch that harmoniously connected with Mom’s elegant gown. Dad’s ensemble of tan khakis and a silver shirt complemented Mom’s outfit exquisitely, creating a cohesive and visually appealing family ensemble.
