I can’t help but smile as I think back to Alyssa and Brian’s breathtaking engagement session along the majestic cliffsides of Santa Cruz. The connection I had built with this couple began over a year ago when I had the honor of photographing Alyssa’s sister, Julianne’s, enchanting wedding in Paso Robles. The love and joy that radiated from that day were simply unforgettable. Little did I know, the bond I formed with their family would lead me to document another extraordinary milestone – Alyssa and Brian’s engagement.

How He Asked

During a trip this past May, Brian found the perfect moment surrounded by the embrace of nature’s beauty to make his move. Standing atop a cascading cliffside in Ireland, they gazed out at the vast expanse of the ocean when he knelt down on one knee and asked Alyssa to spend forever by his side. It was a moment that froze in time, a declaration of love that forever shaped their journey as a couple. With a heartfelt ‘yes’, their engagement was set in motion.

As we ventured to Santa Cruz for their engagement session, the weather looked rather gloomy. The sky was adorned with muted tones, yet somehow, it only added to the ethereal atmosphere surrounding us. Near the end of their engagement session, we were met with a pleasant surprise. The appearance of their beloved furry friend! Their dog, Emmy, brought extra warmth and playfulness to the session.
