I had the incredible honor of capturing Julie and David’s maternity photoshoot at the magical San Joaquin River Parkway. It’s a location that holds a special place in their hearts. They had gotten married at the San Joaquin River Parkway a little over a year ago, and Julie’s grandmother had volunteered for decades at the River Parkway. Of course, the Parkway’s gift shop was even named after her! But let me take you back a couple of years first, when I first met this amazing couple during their engagement photoshoot in the majestic landscapes of Yosemite.

Julie and David’s love story goes way back, all the way to their childhoods. Their mothers have been best friends for decades, nurturing a bond that has withstood the test of time. Can you imagine the sheer joy both families felt when Julie and David decided to tie the knot? It was a dream come true for their mothers. A testament to the power of enduring friendship and the magic that comes from joining two families together.

Fast forward to this scorching hot summer morning at the San Joaquin River Parkway, where their maternity photoshoot took place. With the sun beating down on us, we sought refuge in the comforting shade. But we knew that the magic of their session could not be hindered by a little heat. Likewise, Julie and David, being the troopers that they are, embraced the warmth and allowed their love to shine through.

Radiant Joy

Looking back at their engagement photos in Yosemite, it was clear that Julie and David had a natural ease in front of the camera. As a matter of fact, their connection had only deepened as they embarked on this new journey in their lives. They were in sync, their anticipation for their baby palpable in every smile, every gesture. What’s more, they radiated happiness, and it was an absolute joy to document their journey.

Seeing Julie and David embrace their dreams of starting a family filled my heart to the brim with happiness. Julie’s radiant glow was heightened by the golden sunlight, as if the universe couldn’t help but illuminate the incredible love growing within her. And also, David stood by her side, with a look of awe and tenderness that spoke volumes. Their joy was infectious—it filled the air, enveloping us all in its warm embrace.
