Lynette + Eric’s Downtown Fresno Wedding
Lynette + Eric braved the scorching Central Valley summer heat to have their dream Downtown Fresno wedding! How? Lots of shade, hundreds of water bottles, and an incredible crew to celebrate alongside them. (I’m not bias just because I happen to be married to one of the guys in their ‘I Do’ crew)
Eric is my brother-in-law, so this wedding was such a gift to capture. His twin, Kyle, is the blurry guy on the far right of the photo above. Kyle is also my husband. Small world 😉
It’s such an honor to welcome Lynette into our family! She’s so kind, thoughtful, and has such a passion for serving those experiencing injustice. Lynette is truly a light in this world, and we’re blessed to know her.

Lynette + Eric decided to share their First Look together privately before the ceremony. A First Look is a planning moment during the wedding day in which the bride and groom plan to see one another for the first time. Traditionally, the First Look occurs when the couple first sees one another as one partner walks down the aisle towards the other.
This nontraditional approach to their First Look was one of their favorite parts of the wedding day.
They were able to share in the joy of such an exciting day without feeling rushed to the next event. Eric also took the opportunity to gift Lynette a few sentimental items that brought along some tears.
Afterward, we did some posed bride and groom portraits in the church. It was still earlier in the afternoon, but the temperature was already in the low 100s. I knew we would be limited for their portraits later in the day because of the heat. These bride and groom portraits in the church ended up being so lovely.
Soon it was time for their ceremony!
Lynette + Eric made the decision to invest in a second shooter for their wedding. If you’re on the fence about a second shooter, I 100% recommend you go for it! Because they had two different photographers working their ceremony, they were able to get so many incredible angles in such a short amount of time.
One of the biggest reasons to hire a second shooter is that they will be able to capture some special moments that you main photographer may have missed. For instance, your main photographer may capture the bride walking down the aisle and the groom’s reaction. If your main photographer is up front capturing those special moments, then who would get a photo of the back of your dress as it trails down the aisle?
Check out these photos of Lynette + Eric’s first kiss for another example of two different views!
After their beautiful ceremony and family portraits in the church, the wedding crew hopped in the car and headed to Downtown Fresno. I had scoped out a few spot that I thought would offer a neutral cityscape background while being 100% shaded in the early afternoon. The spot was perfect to combat the 110 degree heat!
We all hopped in the car again to the next location: their reception at cultural art center, Arte Americas. Arte regularly hosts summer concerts, community events, and art exhibits featuring local + international artists. Regular performances include danzantes folkloricos, Mariachi ensembles, as well as films and presentations by Latinx poets, authors, writers, novelists and videographers.
It was the perfect spot to celebrate Lynette + Eric’s wedding reception in the heart of Downtown Fresno!
Lynette + Eric, the love you two share for one another and your hearts for service are such an inspiration. May you continue to support, honor, and cherish one another as you navigate your new lives together. I’m honored to have been your wedding photographer, and to get the opportunity to come alongside you two in this new season of life.
