Chelsea + Nathan’s Paso Robles Wedding at Villa San-Juliette Winery was one I won’t forget anytime soon.
I’d been looking forward to this weekend since their engagement session at Shaver Lake, which was over a year ago! I remember watching them so at ease with one another and knew that they would be such a joyous couple on their wedding day. The tenderness and affection that Chelsea and Nathan share with one another was an honor to capture.
Chelsea had such an incredible team of women support her throughout the day. I arrived just as Shania Twain was hitting her opening notes to Man I Feel Like a Woman, which is an absolutely necessary bachelorette party and pre-wedding anthem. It set the tone as Chelsea’s crew made sure everything was running on time, and the details were worked out smoothly.
As soon as I saw Chelsea in her dress, I knew her wedding would be so elegant. She chose a black/white theme, with her bridesmaids in deep emerald silk dresses and the groom + groomsmen in black suits.
Nathan definitely killed the “walk like a GQ model” prompt!
Chelsea + Nathan opted for a private first look together before their ceremony. I like to place my couples into position and then back up to give them some space. I want my couples to feel like their first look is a special moment between the two of them. My zoom lens helps my couples get the privacy they deserve, and the photos they’ll want afterward.
I typically recommend private first looks to my couples who are a bit more shy, or want to get most of the portraits done ahead of the ceremony. By getting those family and wedding party portraits done earlier, you can celebrate at your reception as soon as the ceremony ends!
Everyone hid away once guests started to arrive. My second shooter and I took the time to take some details photos of their ceremony and reception area.
After I sent her the gallery, Chelsea told me how much she appreciated the detail photos because she didn’t have much opportunity the day of the wedding to take in all the little details.
Then it was time for the ceremony!
The ceremony location is absolutely perfect at the Villa San-Juliette Winery. I loved the backlighting on Chelsea + Nathan, the stunning vineyards that lead toward the alter, and the sand-colored mansion on the property. Everything came together so elegantly, which perfectly fit Chelsea + Nathan.
I got to steal Chelsea + Nathan away for half an hour of bride and groom portraits after the ceremony.
The glow of sunset in the reception area was absolutely breathtaking when we returned from Chelsea + Nathan’s portraits.
Chelsea + Nathan, I am so beyond happy that I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure! I absolutely loved being surrounded by the joy on your wedding day in Paso Robles. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness!
