Shaver Lake Wedding Portraits

Shaver Lake wedding

Khadeisya and Isaiah’s Shaver Lake wedding portraits are what mountain elopement dreams are made of! *cue Hillary Duff*

The secret? They married in Fresno the day before! The wedding day was a busy flutter of activity from one event to the next. They wanted the opportunity to intentionally spend time with their guests. When I brought up the idea of going somewhere else the day after their wedding for portraits, they were all in! (Note: This is also referred to as a “day-after” session.) They chose a couple of beautiful spots for their Shaver Lake wedding portraits, and the rest is history!

Shaver Lake is one of my favorite locations close to the Central Valley. It’s within 30 miles of Fresno, so I don’t charge an additional travel fee. It has an incredible mountainous treeline, beautiful lake views, and dreamy meadows. The weather is also usually more mild than in places like Yosemite National Park or King’s Canyon.

Khadeisya and Isaiah first met over 5 years ago. While the sparks didn’t fly at the beginning, they found themselves falling for one another over time.

In December 2021, they went on a vacation to visit some mutual friends that live in Philadelphia. They went ice skating at the beautiful Penn’s Landing, filled with all the ambient lights from the holidays. Isaiah asked to take a photo with Khadeisya in the middle of the rink. Then he bent down to “tie his shoe.” She looked up and saw someone recording and knew that was it, it was not a drill!

Needless to say, she said yes!

All of my wedding collections include an additional session! Many of my couples who have already done engagement photos like to do wedding portraits as their separate session! A day-after session is perfect for those who want that extra time with their guests, want more privacy during their portraits, want to try a different style or location, or just want the fun memories!
